Cancellation & Refund Policies

Guided Fishing (Walk-wade and Float Trips), Lodging Packages & Free Range Hunting

We require cancellation 60 days prior to your trip start date for a full refund to the original card or account the booking was made on, less any transaction fees.  For cancellations made with less than 60 days notice, we will provide a 50% refund unless we can rebook your trip dates, in which case we will provide a full refund or a partial refund if only certain dates can be rebooked. Given we typically have our entire guiding season booked out 6-12 months in advance, it can be hard to fill in bookings under short notice cancellations, as the majority of our clients have already got their travel plans booked in several months ahead. We understand that circumstances change and we are certainly open to working with you on a case by case basis if you need to cancel or amend your trip dates but we hope you can appreciate the nature of the guiding business does make it difficult to re-book our services under short notice. If you need to cancel, please call or email us as soon as possible and we reserve the right to enforce our cancellation / refund policy but we will also use our discretion.

Guided Trophy Hunts

Cancellations 60 days prior to your hunt dates will receive a full refund less your 30% deposit. Cancellations made with less than 60 days notice will receive a 50% refund to cover the costs we have incurred in securing your trophy hunt with the owners of Sunnyside Station.

Inclement Weather

Fiordland’s weather is fickle and rainfall is an intrinsic part of any trip to this part of the world. Please refer to our weather page for a general description of our region’s weather and climate. We all hope for gorgeous bright sunny days but it’s essential all clients appreciate that the weather is outside of our control. Refunds will not be given for clients that don’t want to venture out into undesirable weather conditions. Generally, we are keen the brave most weather conditions to get you into fish and show you a fun day on the water. The only time we will cancel a trip due to weather is if the conditions are severe and unsafe to operate in.

Roll-overs

We are open to rolling over any bookings that need to be cancelled into future guiding seasons, providing the future dates you want are available. If you have already paid for your trip in full then there will be no additional costs for rolling your trip over into another guiding season, even if our prices change. If you have already paid your deposit and need to roll over your trip, then we will honour the pricing at the time you paid your deposit when it comes to paying your full trip balance.

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend all our clients have adequate travel insurance before they depart for a trip with us to ensure you are covered if plans change. Get in touch with us to chat about the levels of cover that is recommended for your trip.
