Enjoy culinary delights prepared by your S² hosts using locally sourced ingredients. The Sunnyside Farmstay is the perfect location to escape the hustle and bustle during your adventures in the Fiordland Region. We can also book you into one of the luxury lodges in our area or create more budget minded packages using local hotels.

 

The Sunnyside Station Farmstay provides boutique accommodations for clients in a remote bucolic setting beside Fiordland. The farmstay has two private rooms for guests and is graced with spectacular views of the Takitimu Mountains. We never mix groups, so clients who book with us have the accommodations for their exclusive use.

Your S² hosts have many years of experience as private chefs, so you’ll be well catered for during your stay. Meals focus on locally sourced ingredients and can cater to all dietary restrictions and preferences.

The farmstay is located on a private deer and sheep station that’s bordered by 9kms of the Waiau River to the East and the vast Fiordland wilderness to the West. We have some of the regions best fishing and hunting on our doorstep, so it’s the perfect location to be based during your S² trip.

Southern Sampler Package - NZD $8000 per person for two clients for 7 nights

“The Sampler trip” is our most popular package for 1-2 anglers. The itinerary is based on showcasing the diversity of fishing experiences our region has to offer whilst providing an all-inclusive* package, so you don’t have to worry about accommodation, meals or transport during your time with us. The trip package includes:

• 2 days of float trip fishing (can be an overnight or day trips)

• 3 days traditional walk-wade fishing on Southland rivers and streams

• One session of jet boat fishing on the Upper Waiau River

• 7 nights hosted accommodation and meals

• All tackle, waders, boots and camping equipment

• Private room for each client

• All vehicle transport during your stay with us

A single angler can pay a premium of NZD$12500 to book out the trip exclusively with the exclusion of the jetboat fishing session, which adds an additional $1350 to the trip costs.

Customised itineraries, larger groups or longer/shorter package deals are priced upon request. We are more than happy to work with you to help craft your ideal trip.

*The Southland Sampler excludes your New Zealand fishing license and alcoholic beverages. If clients elect to add wilderness fishing into their itinerary then water taxi or aircraft fees are also excluded from the package price. “Cast and blast” packages combining hunting and angling activities based out of the farmstay can also be priced upon request.

Looking for luxury accomodation or something that meets your budget?

For clients looking for more luxury, we work closely with some of the best luxury lodges in Fiordland and can price luxury accommodation packages upon request. We put together fishing, hunting and accommodation packages with the two premium luxury all inclusive lodges in the Fiordland Region being Fiordland Lodge in Te Anau and Cabot Lodge in Manapouri.

DIY accommodation at AirBnB’s or Hotels in Manapouri, Te Anau or Tuatapere can also be arranged as a package deal if preferred. We have the capacity without our guiding team to provide package deals for large corporate groups of up to 12 clients but groups of this size need to book well in advance to ensure we have guides and ample accommodation options available.
