Hunting

Hunt With Rifle, Bow or Lens.

Our guided hunts are carried out on a private Fiordland estate where you will have exclusive access to stalk the game of your dreams.

Trophy Red Stags

March to July

The Red Deer (Cervus elaphus) was first introduced from Britain and Scotland to Aotearoa in 1861. They were wide spread across the South Island by the early 1900’s and are the most common deer species in the country today.

New Zealand has developed a well earned reputation for producing some of the largest trophy Red Stags in the world. Trophy’s in the 300 to 500 SCI score range are common with animals breaking into the 700 SCI score range achievable.

Due to the diverse range of trophy hunt options available, we price our hunts on a case by case basis, so they can be crafted to your specific aspirations and budget. Trophy fees for entry level trophy stags in the 300-349 SCI score range start out at US$5,000 and go up from there.

Most trophy hunts are carried out over 4 days to ensure you have adequate time to successfully harvest your animal.

Fallow Bucks

March to September

Fallow Deer (Dama dama) are the second most common deer in New Zealand. They have palmated antlers much like a moose. Bucks can exhibit diverse coloration of their capes with the common form being brown/tan with white spots but black, dark brown, menil and white are all possible encounters.

Although they are smaller in terms of body size, Fallow are known for being aggressive scrappers, especially during the rut in April and May. They have a reputation for being able to hide in very sparse cover, making them a challenging hunt in relatively open country.

Fallow hunts are often added on to a trophy stag hunt during a 4 day hunting itinerary. Fallow Buck trophy fees start out at US$4,500 for the best available.

Hunt with a lens $995 per day (1-2 people)

Year Round

Stalking big game with binoculars or a camera can be as exhilarating and rewarding as a harvest motivated hunt. This can be especially exciting during the rut period, when multiple roaring stags can be tracked during a guided day and lots of close encounters with game animals can be expected. Hunt with a lens trips include client pick up/drop off in the Fiordland Region, guiding, binoculars, lunch and exclusive access to the hunting blocks.
